Use the Technician set
The July 2026 guidance has eleven objectives with different required standards. The table records headings and standards checked on 14 October 2026. The official document gives the complete scope; linked Forum guides provide practical prompts and illustrative evidence.

Read the standard as well as the title
Appreciation concerns how a subject relates to other matters. Knowledge involves understanding and application. Experience involves carrying out work independently or under supervision. Ability involves independent performance and competence to advise others. Apply the individual objective’s standard and describe supervision accurately.
A model can support communication or documentation evidence when you explain what it communicated and how you controlled it. Structural understanding needs an explanation of the engineering it represents.
Make an objective index
Record the requirement, task and portfolio reference. Explain your contribution concisely. Reuse an item where relevant, with a separate explanation of what it demonstrates for each objective.
Use the gap-review worksheet to distinguish missing explanation from missing experience. Improve the account where work exists; plan practical development where it does not.
Questions to ask yourself
- Am I using Technician standards?
Do not substitute another grade’s requirements.
- Can I explain the engineering behind the drawing?
Ask a mentor to test understanding.
- Where is the supporting detail?
Give a precise reference.
