What has been checked
The lesson review covers the explanations, worked steps, exercises and feedback. Selected results have also been recalculated separately, including all 40 numeric practice answers in the first three Structural Analysis modules. The calculation suite includes regression checks for footing punching, composite construction stages, steel connections, foundation settlement, moving loads, modal stability and other defects found during review.
Editorial review and numerical checks do not establish design compliance. The lesson notes identify the assumptions, standards and calculations that still need independent engineering review.
Figures and interactive models
The latest pass checked all 40 authored lesson figures and exercised the controls for all 192 distinct laboratory models. Corrections include force directions, elastic curves, stress and strain scales, reinforcement geometry, moving-load peaks and unsupported input handling. Figures remain vector drawings; wider diagrams can be scrolled locally on a phone and enlarged where the browser supports it.
Control checks cover default settings and individual slider limits, plus visible choices. They do not exhaust every possible combination of inputs or establish suitability for a real structure. The separate bridge workspace and supplemental reference material have not received the same complete visual review.
Lesson-by-lesson review
401 of 401 course lessons and bridge component studies have received a full-context editorial review in the current pass. The register distinguishes that work from engineering sign-off, which remains open. Supplemental assessments, tutorials, reference tables and the bridge workspace also need further review.

Specific expert checks still open
- Concrete and steel: applicable code clauses, National Annex choices, partial factors, execution classes and tolerances, connection detailing and second-order analysis. The previously flagged construction actions, internal punching checks, integrated load take-down, shared joint forces and effective plate areas have been corrected. Actual support, restraint, detailing and ground conditions remain project inputs.
- Foundations: compatible bearing-factor methods, total and effective load conventions, and ground-specific stiffness and drainage. The logarithmic settlement approximation has been replaced with the flexible rectangular half-space solution; the rigid-square factor is identified separately. Rigid non-square settlement remains unavailable. The short free-head pile equilibrium now gives a checked mechanism load and moment demand; design resistance still needs section, mechanism, restraint and ground checks.
- Soil mechanics: classification, drainage assumptions, laboratory interpretation, stress paths and critical-state models outside the illustrative cases.
- Dynamics: loading spectra, modal participation, damping and comfort, fatigue or strength acceptance criteria.
- Computational methods and bridge studies: convergence beyond the recorded cases, combined extreme inputs, three-dimensional geometry and project-specific acceptance criteria.
Concrete and steel teaching editions
The calculation profiles retain their stated first-generation Eurocode basis. New UK National Annexes have been published for BS EN 1992-1-1:2023 (31 March 2026) and BS EN 1993-1-1:2022 (31 July 2026). The examples have not been converted into second-generation calculations.
Check the applicable authority and project specification during the coexistence period. Do not combine provisions from different generations without considering their reliability and compatibility.
References requiring particular care
Steel execution material was originally based on BS EN 1090-2:2008+A1:2011. BS EN 1090-2:2018+A1:2024 is the newer publication. The original plated-elements references also omitted A2:2019. Affected clauses and examples require review before project use.

For learning
Use exercises to understand a principle, check dimensions and test sensitivity to an assumption. For project decisions, use the appropriate current standards, competent engineering judgement and the required checking process.
