ICE / Attributes and evidence

Evidence map

Map projects against the seven areas to assess the coverage of your evidence.

LEARNING GUIDE

Use this material to examine your own work. Confirm current requirements, forms and dates with ICE before applying.

ICE's preparation guidance recommends a matrix of projects against attributes. Use the interactive matrix to see where your evidence is strong and where it needs further work.

A list of examples tells you how much you have written. A map tells you the shape of what you have: which project is quietly carrying four areas, which area rests entirely on one fortnight of one job, and where you have written three paragraphs and shown no decision at all.

Every cell you fill in is read back to you. Not marked: read. The tool says what your words currently settle, what they leave open, and which of those two things a reviewer would ask about first.

Where to start

If you have never done this, do not start with the attributes. Start with the work: open the project questions, describe one piece of it properly, and let the suggestions point at where the evidence might sit. Accepting or rejecting a suggestion takes a second, and it is a far easier way in than reading seven attribute statements and trying to remember what you did in 2022.
